#InteriorDesign 001: Styling with Kress Jack
A San Francisco Bay Area Home Featuring Poet and/the Bench Artists
A Kiwi in Cali
Nestled in Mill Valley, California, this now-modern Craftsman is 2,100 square feet of personality. The homeowners imagined a space infused with warmth and creativity, reflective of their home country of New Zealand—a canvas for their diverse and growing art collection—not to mention their still-young kids. What started as a styling job, turned into a complete transformation by interior designer Kress Jack.

“I strive to create spaces that that evoke an emotion, often it’s a combination of calm and wonder– wonder in discovering some surprise element around each corner,” says Bay Area interior designer Kress Jack. (Source: California Home & Design)
Considered Characteristics:
Curate an art collection for conversation starters and personal moments.
Neutral(ish) elements create a textured backdrop: Think, seagrass walls and natural fabric window coverings!
Custom banquets set the stage for close-knit meals.

Thoughtful details transform shared spaces into personal sanctuaries. Try a built-in sofa for a cozy spot to unwind.
“We wanted our home to truly represent us—artistic, warm, a little edgy, and connected with nature. Kress understood us from the start. Her creativity brought our vision to life, and we absolutely love the finished product.” —Emma
Seek to transcend traditional styles or fleeting trends. Design with timeless, personal, and uniquely you elements: Source uncommon pieces!
Bold-patterned wall coverings! To surprise you in the best way possible.
Choose art pieces that speak to an element in the room, as if they are having a conversation.
If your objective is a space that feels like a retreat, think: spa-like bathrooms.
